GCDC Annual Meeting Announcement

The Green County Development Corporation (GCDC) announced details regarding their Annual Meeting and Recognition Dinner, to be held on Monday, April 30, 2012, at the Edelweiss Chalet Country Club, W4764 Edelweiss Road, New Glarus. The event is open to the public; cost is $40 per person.

“We are excited to announce that our keynote speaker will be Don McEachern, CEO of North Star Destination Strategies on Nashville, TN,” stated Anna Schramke, Executive Director of GCDC. “North Star has been working on development of a Green County brand for almost a year and while the Green County Branding Initiative is not complete, now is a great time to prepare for how we might use the results of the initiative. Don will share how other communities have used their results to capitalize on their investment.”  Don's presentation is entitled “Bringing a 2-Dimensional Brand to Life in Your 3-Dimensional Community”.  

In board rooms all over this great country, city leaders are discussing the feasibility of branding as a way to elevate the reputations – and the bottom lines -- of their communities.   Twelve years ago, after more than two decades of branding big-name retail products, Don turned his passion to helping people identify and ignite the essence of the places they call home . . . applying that essential competitive identity across all public and private sectors in actions both large and small.   And after branding more communities, in more states than any other branding “guru”, he understands the role branding can take in moving a community from good to great!

Make plans now to attend the Green County Development Corporation's annual event. It will begin with a reception at 5:30 pm, followed by a family style dinner, catered by New Glarus Hotel, at 6:30 pm. All interested persons are invited to attend.

The evening will include an announcement of the several awards, including Green County's Outstanding Business of the Year and the Richard B. Schmied Leadership Award.
